Licensing

Designed around ownership, clarity and responsible content use.

The commercial model is still being tested. These principles describe the intended direction and are not yet final sale terms.

Free Reader

A planned free edition for opening, exploring and presenting maps shared by others, without an artificial expiry.

Personal Desktop

A planned one-time licence for creating and editing local maps. The purchased version should remain usable indefinitely; future major upgrades may be offered separately.

Resource packs

Curated packs may be offered separately where their sources and licences permit it. Their value should come from careful curation, structure, provenance and integration—not from claiming ownership of public-domain texts.

Licensed and subscription resources

Some editions and research services remain governed by their publishers. Scripture Mapper may provide read-only access through a user’s own account without caching, redistributing or repurposing restricted text.

Research API and online services

First-party API access would have separate service terms covering request limits, attribution, acceptable use and the licences attached to each dataset. Access to an API would not transfer ownership of a user’s local project.

Institutions

Seminaries, churches, libraries and teaching departments may eventually be offered multi-seat or shared-resource arrangements.

Final licence terms, prices and permitted uses will be published before any paid release.
